A Day at the Bronx Zoo
Main Zoo Entrance, 9:45am
Join the Better Halves Club for a day at the Bronx Zoo, inlcuding an info session on gorillas by an employee who is also a current better half!
We will meet at 9:45am at the main entrance of the zoo - 2300 Southern Blvd, Bronx NY
For members with a NYC ID, general admission is free but there is a $6 fee for special exhibits (which must be paid by members at the entrance).
For members without a NYC ID, tickets are $17 per adult and $12 per child (3 and older) and should be purchased through orgsync (link below).

Bourbon Tasting

Now that you've tasted scotch and tequila, it's time to try bourbon. Join us for the club's first bourbon tasting! Several different bourbons will be available for tasting, as well as food pairings for each. Just bring yourself and your student!

Elizabeth Jones will discuss the Columbia Employment Information Center, including what they do and what they offer, as well information on how to apply to jobs at Columbia.

Yxa Bazan, lecturer from Columbia University, will speak on how to ask for what you want.

NYRR Boomer's Cystic Fibrosis Run to Breathe
Central Park, 9 am
Join us for a 4 Mile Run in Central Park on April 8th! Go to the race website to sign up for the race - membership in NYRR is not required. We will meet before and after the run. More details to come!

Free First Friday at the Frick
Frick Museum, 6 pm
Join us for an evening taking advantage of one of the best cultural institutions in NYC! We'll visit the Frick Museum, a gem of a collection and the former private residence of Henry Clay Frick. This is an evening where the museum opens its doors for free and has musicians, gallery staff giving brief lectures, and more.
The doors open at 6 pm, but as the event is very popular, we recommend getting there earlier if you can. If you can't, don't worry, but be prepared to wait in a bit of a line.
Depending on how the timing works, we may also be able to make a trip to Ladurée or Bemelmans Bar!

Join the Better Halves Club for a CBS Families Social. All families and parents-to-be at CBS are invited to attend. We will have family-friendly food from Murray's Cheese, drinks for all ages and activities for the kids. Additionally, each family will receive a goody bag with helpful information for the parents and fun items for the kids.

Join the Better Halves Club for a private Chelsea Gallery Tour through New York Gallery Tours. The two hour tour includes that week's 7 most extraordinary gallery exhibits and will be led by Rafael Risemburg.

Join us as we enjoy Mexican tequila, beer and food. Emilio & Valentina will be hosting this event at their apartment in Morningside Heights. The evening will include tasting a variety of good tequila, Mexican beers and homemade tacos al pastor.

The Better Halves Club is hosting Paint & Sip Studio NY on campus for an afternoon of painting. Each attendee will get their own canvas and a Paint & Sip instructor will lead the group in painting a NYC-themed painting. Snacks, drinks and wine will be provided.
Space is limited to 15 spots. Tickets are $25 per member and must be purchased through OrgSync (access through Student ID and login).

We will have catering from Murray's Cheese and beer and wine will be provided. Additionally, we will be collecting canned food items to donate to City Harvest to help our local community. For each canned good donated, you will receive 1 raffle ticket in our drawings for prizes. We will be raffling away 2 Echo Dots and 1 Echo - three homes will be getting a little smarter!

Join us for our first Careers Workshop, including presentations on building your personal brand, resume writing, LinkedIn profile, and finding out your strengths! As a bonus, get a professional LinkedIn profile picture taken for free!
This event is open to all BHC members and students. Drinks and food will be provided. Plus, this a great chance to network with other Better Halves and students. You never know whom you might meet!

The Three Bears Holiday Bash
Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater, 1 pm
The Three Bears Holiday Bash is a variety show that celebrates the holiday season in song, dance and puppetry. The production quickly becomes a comedy of errors when Baby Bear invites Santa to star in Mama and Papa Bear’s annual Christmas Eve holiday show. The audience also gets to join in on the fun with sing-a-longs during the performance of holiday favorites the “I Have A Little Dreidel” and “Feliz Navidad.”

Storm King
Storm King Art Center + State Park, 9 am
Join us for a day of exploring New York outside of the City, during a beautiful time of year to be outdoors!
We will start the day at Storm King Art Center, an amazing outdoor art gallery. After the gallery, we will stop for lunch. Then, right down the road, we will do a hike in Storm King State Park, which Hike the Hudson Valley describes as having "the best views of the Hudson Valley you're likely to find without renting a helicopter." The weather is supposed to be perfect and the fall foliage will be at its peak!
Please note, this hike is a moderately challenging 2.5 hour loop. There will be some steep areas in the first 30 minutes or so, and then the hike will be more of a walk. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes/boots.
We are renting two SUVs for transportation. To reserve your seat(s), students must RSVP in OrgSync (button below) and purchase a ticket for each person attending. The fee covers transportation, gallery admission, and lunch. Tickets are non-refundable.

You've probably been to the Met before. But, did you know that the Museum has a rooftop, with incredible views of Central Park and the NYC skyline, and a cocktail bar? It's also open late on Fridays and Saturdays, and you can enjoy the galleries when they're less crowded!
